Chiang Mai

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: January 27, 2009

Yesterday, I took the train from Nakhon Sawan to Chiang Mai. It’s about 9 hours, so I was quite tired when I arrived.
The taxi driver asked for 150 Bhat, when the guest house owner had already told me that 80-100 was reasonable. I managed to get him down to 100 pretty easily, proving that it’s [...]

Ayutthaya, Nakhon Sawan

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: January 25, 2009

Just a quick one. Didn’t get time to finish the last one as I had to get a train to Ayutthaya – the former capital of Siam, with plenty of ruins in the city centre. Am now in Nakhon Sawan on the way North. They have a lot of Chinese people here, so I came [...]

City of Angels

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: January 21, 2009

Hmm, I’ve been lazing around in the City Of Angels for nearly 2 weeks now and not done much. I did go to “the lungs of Bangkok” at the weekend, and last night “helped out” at a kindergarten for kids in one one the poorer areas of Bangkok. This consisted of shouting out “Red! One! [...]

I didn’t take any pictures in Noosa, due to problems with my batteries.
I did manage to photograph a Koala at Australia Zoo, which is between Noosa and Brisbane.

Pictures: Rainbow beach

After the tour of Fraser Island, I was dropped off at Rainbow Beach, which I much preferred to Hervey Bay, the other Fraser Island “gateway”.
Why is it called Rainbow Beach? I had assumed that it was, like Surfers’ Paradise, just a nice name to attrach tourists. But in fact it’s named after the Rainbow which [...]

Photographs of the past

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: January 5, 2009

Now I’m in the land of cheap internet, with nothing better to do, I will upload some photographs of the past.
I believe we’d got to Fraser island, so next stop Rainbow Beach where I was dropped off by the tour bus.

Now, Future

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: January 3, 2009

Now in Sydney again.
Chilling out and trying not to spend much money (in fact, trying to spend exactly the amount of money I’ve already withdrawn…)
On Saturday I fly to Bangkok. Plans not planned for the next 6 weeks before I fly from Bangkok to Delhi, I would like to go to Laos, but might have [...]
