Not found a video online for the MJ thing, but here’s an article about it http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,24334489-5003423,00.html … Aha … You can view it on the artist’s website: http://www.candicebreitz.net/ - can’t create a deep link – Use menu Work / Video / King

Scorchio, scorchio, scorchio

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: September 29, 2008

The last three days have been very hot. I even got round to swimming on streets beach on Saturday. It was too busy yesterday.
I also went to the Queensland museum and the Gallery of Modern Art. My favourite exhibit was a room with various Micheal Jackson fans performing whilst listening to his Thriller album on [...]

The new plan

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: September 27, 2008

The Tilt Train is fully booked until Friday, so I will be taking the Sunlander on Tuesday. This is a slower train, but it has a lounge car and is more gear for tourists. Also, I won’t have to pay an upgrade.
Since this is using 2 days from my rail pass anyway, I’ll probably break [...]

By the way…

Rice Krispies are called Rice Bubbles here.
I found a travel agent with an in-house Global Gossip, so I am able to do banking for free too.
I’m still making up my mind what to do, probably going to book a train journey to Cairns today, it’s the school holidays so I will have to wait until [...]

Brisbane so far

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: September 24, 2008

No sign of Scott and Charlene, but I’m keeping an eye out…
Brisbane is another big city. I’m staying just outside the city centre (or CBD as they call them here). Yesterday, I walked through the CBD to Chinatown and Fortitude Valley (home of cheap food), then down and along the riverside boardwalk through the Botanic [...]

Bryon 2 Brisbane

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: September 21, 2008

Heading to Brisbane tomorrow. It’s only 2 hours on the bus.
I’ve been a bit disappointed with Byron Bay. It’s a fantastic beach, and I did see a whale in the bay. However, the weather’s still not quite warm enough for me to venture into the sea, and the rest of the life (at least at [...]

Byron Bay

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: September 16, 2008

Arrived at Bryon Bay last night, staying at the YHA. Seems OK.
Weather is very nice and the beach is good… There are lots of activities on offer, it’s a real backpacker central…

Sydney to Byron Bay

Posted by: jetstreamjitterbug on: September 13, 2008

I’ve decided to head to Byron bay next. Leaving on Monday by train/coach combination.
Apparently it’s all organic and yoga round there.
Sydney has been good. I got a combined ticket for all of the Historic House Trust muesums for $15 (half price from 30 with YHA card!) Hyde Park Barracks was very interesting. It was built [...]

Photos

I’ve worked out how to add captions to photos properly – but only in time to do a few on the outback one.
The rest have titles or captions as comments…
